Krissy Pierre-Collins

Born and raised in New Zealand, Krissy is the Founder and Director of Freedom Arts Academy based south of the river in Cockburn Central, Perth City. Krissy directs, coaches, mentors and choreographs multiple teams within the Academy and is known for her diversity in her movement.

Krissy has been an active member in the Hip Hop and Street Dance Communities of New Zealand and Australia for over 20 years combined. This has given her a multitude of local, national and international opportunities during her time as a creative.

Krissy started off as the only female tutor at The Company NZ in Wellington NZ. Then moved to Sydney Australia to help form the dance crew ‘The Rookies’ who then became National Champions and qualified in 1st place for the World Hip Hop Championships based in the USA where they reached semi finals

Krissy has now had her own studio in Perth Australia for the past 5 years. This is where she concentrates on teaching and using Hip Hop dance and Hip Hop culture as a tool for self expression to combat the ever growing effects of mental health

Shakes has been an active member in the Hip Hop and Street Dance Communities of New Zealand and Australia for over 15 years combined. This has given him an array of experience of different styles as well as the opportunity to strengthen his different skill sets.

Shakes is a mentor and leader in the Krump community across Australia and holds a name for himself as one of the OG’s and heavy hitters of the Oceania Region (NZ & Aus).

Talia’s career has spanned across a wide variety of dance genres and media platforms. She is a classical ballerina having worked for companies – The Queensland Ballet, Ballet BC (Quebec), Madboots Dance (NY), Gregory/Dawson Project (San Francisco), Leigh Warren Dancers (Adelaide), Alonzo King LINES Ballet (San Francisco). Performing both classical & contemporary works, her career taken her to Europe, Asia, Canada and the USA.

In 2009 she was the winner of Season 2 ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. She starred in ‘Fame the Musical’s national tour as Iris Kelly.

Throughout the commercial industry she has worked for the likes of Tabitha & Napoleon, Sonya Tayeh, ARIA’s, AACTA’s, X Factor, Australia’s Got Talent, & various music artists. Currently, she freelances as a soloist and pas de deux artist with performances across the international corporate scene. Talia recently performed on the runway for international fashion label BALMAIN.

Her work for Sony Music can be seen in choreography, movement direction and video editing for Timomatic & Pusha T music video ‘Delilah’, and Talia can be seen in lead acting roles for Timomatic ‘Parachute’, The Veronicas ‘You Ruin Me’, and Van-ahn Nguyen’s Album ‘Peaceful Piano Essentials’. Talia landed the cover of Dance Australia, advertising campaign and face of Bloch ‘Heritage’ pointe shoe & guest performances for the Australian Dance Awards, So You Think You Can Dance US, & the World Dance Congress.

In her training she achieved her A.R.A.D Solo Seal and was a part of The Genée International Ballet Competition (now The Fonteyn) and The Prix de Lausanne.

Talia is a now certified coach for Vaganova method training with the Australia Conservatoire of Ballet, and runs an interstate ‘Elite Artist’ Classical Ballet Program.

She is a private technique coach and has taught nationwide workshops & masterclasses for the past 6 years. She has also adjudicated solo scholarships, competitions and dance festivals across the country. As guest speaker for organisations ‘Beautiful Mind’s’ and ‘The Halogen Foundation’, Talia has enjoyed becoming a mentor to the new generation.

Rachel Dowse

Rachel Dowse found her passion for the performing arts early.  She trained at RAW Dance Company in Brisbane and quickly moved up to company dancer and teacher.

Rachel Dowse found her passion for the performing arts early. She trained at RAW Dance Company in Brisbane and quickly moved up to company dancer and teacher. She has toured the United States of America with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus as a dancer and aerialist and waltzed around Universal Studios Japan as Marilyn Monroe. Rachel has since performed with various shows including Coterie Cabaret, Dancing CEO’s, Broad Encounters “A Midnight Visit”, Trigger Happy Productions “Shreklesque”, Platform Creative “Ooh La La”, Che Pritchard’s “Birds of Paradise” and Opera Australia’s “CARMEN on Cockatoo Island” in Sydney. She has just finished choreographing and performing in Brisbane Performing Arts Challenge “Behind The Curtain” alongside Keith Hawley and Veronica Beattie and will be continuing to teach and create works in Brisbane and Gold Coast. Rachel’s style is recognised for her unique musicality, quirky movement and expressive performance quality.

Sarah Bakker is a dancer, singer and actor who has featured in many of the world’s most spectacular musicals across Australian, Broadway and London’s West End theatres.

Sarah Bakker is a dancer, singer and actor who has featured in many of the world’s most spectacular musicals across Australian, Broadway and London’s West End theatres. Born and raised in Brisbane, Sarah trained at The Dance Works, The Queensland Dance School of Excellence and The Young Conservatorium of Music and made her stage debut as young Cosette in Les Misérables.

Sarah’s early theatre credits include The Phantom of the Opera, originally in the Corps De Ballet in Singapore and then also as understudy Christine Daae in the Australian National tour. She played the role of Annie in Chicago and understudy Roxie Hart (Gordon Frost Organisation) and joined the Australian tour of Mary Poppins (Disney Theatricals) as part of the ensemble and alternate for the role of Mary Poppins. Sarah then moved to New York and continued understudying and playing Mary Poppins in the Broadway production. While there, she also reprised her role of Christine Understudy/Ensemble in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.

Sarah’s UK credits include Evita at the Ljublijana Festival in Slovenija (Brownowski and Tarento Productions), the role of Young Heidi in Follies in Concert at the renowned Royal Albert Hall in London and the original cast of Mrs Henderson Presents as Ensemble/ Dance Captain and understudy Peggy, which transferred to the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End. Further West End performances were highlighted in An American in Paris (Dominion Theatre) as ensemble and understudy to the role of Milo Davenport and the new production of Chess at the London Coliseum featuring in the Ensemble and understudying the role of Svetlana. Most recently Sarah was Dance Captain and performed in the ensemble of The Phantom of the Opera with Opera Australia/ HOSH open air theatre.
